Buttock augmentation has gained great popularity over the past decade as women seek to sculpt their gluteal region and harmonize their figure. The procedure is an excellent option if you are concerned with having a flat bottom or figure without curves. Buttock augmentation is generally performed by one of two techniques that Dr. Shaddix will help you choose.
The first technique, often referred to as the Brazilian Butt Lift, uses your own fatty tissue to shape your buttocks producing an entirely natural enhancement. First, liposuction is used to remove fat from other areas of you body. The fat is then purified and strategically placed to contour your buttocks giving a lifted, full, and youthful appearance. By removing fatty tissue from stubbornly fatty areas in the liposuction process, the entire figure is reshaped. When the waistline is decreased and the buttock region filled out, a very sensual and feminine body shape can be achieved.
The second method for buttock augmentation involves placement of implants to produce the desired curves. These solid implants are made of FDA-approved silicone and have a very natural feel similar to well-toned muscle. Dr. Shaddix carefully selects the most appropriate implant to provide a natural shape for your unique body.
Reasons for Considering a Brazilian Buttock Lift or Buttock Implants:
· Desire to increase the size and improve the shape of the buttocks
· Figure lacking feminine curves
· Flat, sagging or generally unappealing appearance of the buttocks
The Buttock Augmentation Procedure
Buttock augmentation procedures are performed under general anesthesia and patients normally go home the same day as surgery. For Brazilian Butt Lift patients, the areas of excess fatty tissue of the abdomen, back, and thighs are marked for liposuction. The fat is then removed and carefully prepared before being placed into the buttocks through multiple very tiny, hidden incisions. For patients undergoing buttock augmentation with implants, a small incision is placed between the upper buttocks. Dr. Shaddix then creates a space to precisely fit the implant. The incision is closed with entirely absorbable sutures.
Recovery following Buttock Augmentation
Patients should plan for at least one week of rest to allow for recovery. Patients may generally return to work after this time, but must still avoid strenuous activities. It will be important to avoid direct pressure to the buttocks as much as possible right after surgery. You may be asked to wear a special compression garment. Some discomfort after surgery is typical, but this can be controlled with the medications you will be given. Dr. Shaddix will provide you with detailed before and after surgery instructions, and will be available to answer any questions you may have along the way.
