Pensacola Soft Tissue and Dermal Fillers

As with many minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures, soft tissue fillers have become very popular.  This is likely due to the excellent results with no downtime which lead to very high patient satisfaction.  Fillers are used to restore volume to the face.  Many times they are used to fill or camouflage folds and wrinkles.  Additionally, fillers can be used to augment the lips giving them a more full and beautiful appearance.

Reasons for considering Soft Tissue Fillers in Pensacola

  • Prominent facial wrinkles or folds
  • Decreased facial volume over the cheeks
  • Thin and small lips

The Soft Tissue Fillers Treatment by your Pensacola Plastic Surgeon

At Shaddix Plastic Surgery, we offer a number of different soft tissue fillers.  As the number of available fillers continues to increase, Dr. Shaddix diligently stays informed of those best suited to treat particular aesthetic needs and can help you in deciding which will work best for you.

Before he begins, Dr. Shaddix will apply a topical anesthetic ointment to your skin to decrease discomfort.  A very tiny needle is used to inject the filler into the area needing treatment.  Much of the filler used by Dr. Shaddix also contains a local anesthetic to further minimize any discomfort.  Most fillers last for up to six to nine months, at which point most patients are happy to come back for more.

Recovery following Soft Tissue Fillers in Pensacola

Patients are able to return to normal activities immediately following the treatment, but strenuous activity should be avoided for at least four hours.  Mild bruising occasionally occurs but tends to resolve very quickly.  Many fillers will continue to hydrate within your tissues over the course of the next day to continue to improve the result.  Swelling can occur, especially when the lips are treated.  This will typically resolve within forty-eight hours.  Dr. Shaddix recommends that you gently massage the treated areas over the first day to smooth and distribute the filler and maximize the result.
