What is Male Eyelid Surgery?
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that improves the appearance of the eyelids. Eyes are one of the foremost means of communication, and it can be discouraging when it feels like people only see a tired or old appearance because of droopy eyelids. Eyelid surgery can be used to address both upper eyelids or puffy lower eyelids by removing the excess tissue and correcting wrinkles. The eyes can be restored to a more youthful appearance, helping you look happier, well-rested, and confident. Blepharoplasty surgery is often combined with other facial procedures, such as a facelift or brow lift.
Your Customized Male Eyelid Surgery Consultation
During your consultation at Shaddix Plastic Surgery, Dr. Shaddix will assess your concerns and help create a plan to make you look your best. Although eyelid surgery can be a great option for patients, Dr. Shaddix will need to determine whether you may benefit more from a brow lift, which can cause similar symptoms. Your consultation is also the best time to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have so that Dr. Shaddix can address them. He will ensure you know what to expect during your procedure and recovery period so that you can begin to plan for your procedure.
If I could rate more than five stars, I would. Dr. Shaddix and his team provided me with the best quality and care that I have ever experienced with any doctor. He is truly kind and strives to give patients the best experience and outcome.”
READ PATIENT REVIEWSThe Procedure
Eyelid surgery can be performed in-office with mild sedation or in an accredited surgery center, depending on your procedure. You will most likely be able to go home after your procedure. Dr. Shaddix makes tiny incisions in the natural creases of your eyelids to leave virtually no visible scarring, after which excess skin can be removed and fatty deposits excised or repositioned. The overall effect is a tightening of the lids to produce a youthful appearance. If a brow lift accompanies your procedure, this can include incisions around the hairline so that the skin of the forehead can be lifted.
Recovery After Male Eyelid Surgery
Depending on the extensiveness of your procedure, you may be able to return to light activities the day after surgery. You should make sure to keep your head elevated and allow yourself plenty of rest for the week after surgery. There is frequently some bruising with eyelid surgery, which typically resolves within two weeks. Your result will continue to develop for four to six weeks after surgery. There may be some mild discomfort after eyelid surgery, which is easily managed with medication prescribed to you by Dr. Shaddix. As with all surgery at Shaddix Plastic Surgery, you will be given detailed before-and-after surgery instructions, and Dr. Shaddix will be available to answer questions and guide you along the way.
At Shaddix Plastic Surgery it's a very laid back, low pressure environment where my goal is to educate, and not to sell.”
