Temporal Brow Lift

Although similar, a temporal browlift does not require a camera to be inserted under the skin. For this type of brow lift, one-inch-long incisions are made just behind the hairline. Then your doctor will pull the skin and tissue back into the desired position before securing it. This method typically only requires local anesthesia.

Direct Brow Lift

A direct brow lift is performed by making an incision just above the brows to manually release and then tighten the forehead muscles. This type of brow lift can also remove excess skin to shorten a tall forehead, before suturing the area back together. It is typically performed on patients with thicker or bushier eyebrows in order to hide the scars within the hair.

Coronal Brow Lift

A Coronal Brow Lift requires an incision to be made behind the hairline from ear to ear. The forehead skin and tissue are then pulled back to the point of overlapping the scalp behind it. The extra, overlapping skin is removed from the scalp before being sewn back together. This is not recommended for individuals with high hairlines, thinning hair, or those who are susceptible to hair loss.

Hairline Brow Lift

This style of brow lift is performed similarly to the coronal brow lift but in the opposite direction. Rather than removing the overlapping skin from the scalp, an incision is made just before the hairline where the forehead is pulled up to meet the scalp, and the excess forehead skin is removed. This is a great option for individuals with a high hairline or receding hairline.

In each case, brow lift surgery typically lasts between 1 and 2 hours.
