The Benefits of a Mommy Makeover
After pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, many women notice changes in their bodies that don’t always reverse with diet or exercise alone. To combat this, the mommy makeover was created as a customized combination of cosmetic procedures aimed at restoring your pre-baby body in a natural, balanced way.
At Shaddix Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kyle Shaddix brings double board certification and more than 15 years of specialized experience in breast and body contouring to every case. He designs each mommy makeover plan to suit your anatomy, goals, and lifestyle. Because he’s practiced both breast and body surgery for years, he’s adept at coordinating breast lifts or augmentations, tummy tucks, liposuction, and more into a safe surgical strategy.
The Mommy Makeover Procedure
A mommy makeover surgery is an operation that combines multiple plastic surgeries that address the physical effects of pregnancy and childbirth. The specific procedures performed vary depending on each patient’s needs, but they are performed under general anesthesia in one surgical session.
This surgical procedure usually includes a breast lift, breast augmentation, or breast reduction to correct sagging breasts, restore a deflated appearance, or remove excess breast tissue. For the abdomen, a tummy tuck tightens weakened abdominal muscles and removes extra skin or stretch marks, while liposuction targets stubborn fat deposits for smoother contours. Many other procedures can be added to a patient’s customized treatment plan, but the breasts and body contours are common target areas.
The Benefits of Mommy Makeover Surgery
Address Multiple Concerns at Once
One of the greatest benefits of a mommy makeover is the ability to address several areas of the body at once. Instead of scheduling separate surgeries for the breasts, abdomen, and other treated areas, patients can combine cosmetic procedures for comprehensive results and a single recovery time.
One Recovery Period
Because the procedures are combined into one surgery, patients experience just one healing period. While recovery can take several weeks, this approach minimizes overall downtime and helps mothers return to their regular routines and children sooner. Dr. Shaddix provides detailed after-care instructions to ensure comfort and safe recovery.
Enhance Confidence & Well-Being
Restoring your pre-pregnancy shape can do more than improve your physical appearance; it can renew confidence and emotional well-being. Many women report feeling more comfortable in their clothing, more active, and more like themselves after mommy makeover surgery.
Candidacy for Mommy Makeover
Ideal candidates are women in good health who have finished childbirth and breastfeeding, and who do not plan to have more children. It’s important to set realistic expectations and discuss your medical history, mommy makeover cost, and recovery time during your consultation. Most women should also be at or near their goal weight, maintain a balanced diet, and be committed to long-term health and fitness to sustain their results.
Common Surgeries in a Mommy Makeover
While there is a wide array of procedure combinations, each plan is carefully curated to restore harmony and proportion to the woman’s body, helping each patient look and feel rejuvenated:
- Breast Augmentation to restore fullness and shape.
- Breast Lift to elevate sagging breasts and improve contour.
- Breast Reduction for relief from heavy, disproportionate breasts.
- Tummy Tuck to tighten abdominal muscles and remove excess skin.
- Liposuction to eliminate excess fat and sculpt the abdomen, hips, or thighs.
- Labiaplasty to address changes to the vaginal area after childbirth.
